The cellar in Bolgheri: low impact and functional efficiency
In such a beautiful and pristine corner of nature it was unthinkable to build a cellar that was not as unassuming as possible.
The cellar is thus hidden beneath a low hill, covered over with olive trees and Mediterranean scrub.
Being completely underground allows us to maintain in a natural manner and all year round conditions appropriate to wine storage.
In addition, having the tanks underground makes it possible to capture and recycle rain water coming from above.
The interior is modern, carefully designed to be efficient as well as attractive for visitors.
Visitors can enjoy a specially-designed “itinerary through the culture of wine,” which begins in the vineyard, continues through the wine cellar, and into the museum and library.
